Welcome to the Grand Traverse District

We are a district made up of 67 churches; starting all the way up north at Indian River then south to Charlevoix, Empire, Manistee and ending at Hart and Mears on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Then inland to Leroy, Cadillac, Kalkaska and Mancelona and every United Methodist church in between, all west of I-75.

Our vision is to “Connect, Inspire, Equip, Repeat”.

We would love to have you join us at any one of the Grand Traverse District churches.

DISTRICT #2 DISTRICT CONFERENCE

OUR NEW NAME is NORTHERN WATERS

 

It was a day of celebration and new beginnings.  There was time for getting acquainted with each other and celebrating our faith as we came together to worship!

Thanks to everyone who came and brought some water to be shared. It was a wonderful visual to see representatives from each church come forward and pour “their” water into a basin.

Abuse Prevention Certification Training

Please note: The new Michigan Area Conference of the UMC has instituted a NEW Abuse Prevention Policy. Effective Jan. 1, 2018 all previously obtained certification through the West Michigan and Detroit Conferences has expired. This new training will be REQUIRED for all leaders/churches attending or hosting District of Conference events where youth, children, and/or vulnerable adults will be served.
